In the end when you’re up in heaven getting the once over by St. Peter it won’t matter how much good you did or what the good you did was. What will matter is the simple fact of did you do good or not.
Now don’t misconstrue the message here. I’m not saying do only the minimum of good that you can, I’m saying that getting into a pissing contest about how much good you did is worse than useless. Don’t compare your good deeds to those of others. Just do what good deeds you can and be happy that it was in your power to help someone.
Think about it, what is a good deed? It’s an act of charity of some sort, whether its helping an old lady across the street or giving millions to help those who need a leg up. But like I said above the greatness of your deeds doesn’t matter in the end. What matters is the fact that you did all the good that was in your power to do.
